Your account, security and language

Эта тема пока недоступна на вашем языке; показан текст на английском.

Your account is yours, not any company's: your name, password, second factor, language and appearance follow you into every company you work in. They live in your own menu, at the foot of the sidebar: Your account, My work, every company, Security, Language and Appearance, with Help, Write to support, What's new and Sign out.

Your account

Your account holds:

  • Full name: your name as it appears on what you sign from now on. Reports already issued keep the name they were signed with.
  • Email address: the address you sign in with, and where your invitations and notifications go. It cannot be changed on this page: it is what identifies you across the family of apps, and a company's single sign-on recognises you by it. Write to us through Write to support in your menu if it must change.
  • Work phone, optional: shown to a client only where the company you work for chooses to show who does their job.
  • Password: at least twelve characters, and none that is known from a breach. Enter the current one, then the new one twice, and Change password.

Two-factor authentication is on the security page; Open security takes you there.

Closing your account

At the foot of Your account, Close your account ends it with your password:

  • You are signed out everywhere, on every app of the family, and your access to every company and every client portal ends at once. Each company's activity log records it.
  • For 30 days the account can be reopened: write to us. Signing in meanwhile says the account was closed.
  • Then your name, email address and phone are taken off the account for good. The record stays, so what you signed still points at someone, and reports already issued keep the names they were signed with: they are the companies' records.

You cannot close your account while a company depends on you alone. The page lists what to do first: where you are a company's only owner, make someone else an owner on its Team page; where you are its only member, close the company first, from its Settings, Data and region.

Two-factor authentication

Security adds a second step at sign-in: a code from an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.

  1. Turn on, then scan the code with the app, or enter the setup key by hand.
  2. Enter the six digits the app shows and Confirm.
  3. Keep the Recovery codes somewhere safe. Each one signs you in once if you lose your phone; Generate new codes replaces them all.

Turn off removes it. A company may require it: its page says Your organisation requires two-factor authentication, and you are sent to set it up before you can do anything else there. Your hours and pay in such a company show on My work only once it is set up.

Your own sign-in history (sign-ins, failed sign-ins, password and two-factor changes) belongs to your account, never to a company. A company's admins see in their activity log only that you entered its workspace, with the time.

Language

Language, in your menu, sets the language of the interface for you alone, on every page, in every company: 21 languages, the ones oil, gas and inspection work runs in. Emails to you come in it too. English is the source; the others are drafts until a native NDT speaker has reviewed them, so if a sentence reads oddly, tell us.

This is not the language of reports: a report is written in one to four languages of its own, chosen per company, client, project and report; see writing a report.

Appearance

Appearance: Light, Dark or Same as this device. The choice is kept on the device you make it on.

One sign-in for the family

You sign in to NDT Intact at intactapps.com, the family's site, and come back to the page you were going to. Once signed in there, each app of the family you are entitled to opens without signing in again. Signing in lasts thirty days without a visit, renewed by every visit.

Sign out ends your session here and at intactapps.com. A session still open in another app of the family runs until it ends by itself.

My work, every company

My work, every company is a page only you see: your own hours and what they come to in each company you work or worked for here, and your own log of work for companies that are not on the platform.

  • Each company shows your approved hours at your pay rate there, an estimate before tax and deductions, settled by its payroll. The figures stay after a contract ends, marked Contract ended. A company that asks for two-factor authentication, or for its own sign-in, shows its figures once you have met that.
  • Your own log: Add work with the company, the job or site, the day, the hours or days, the rate you agreed and, once it is paid, Paid on. Nobody else sees it.

The page also opens when no company admits you any more, so your figures and your account are always yours to reach.

More than one company

If you work for several companies, each gives you a membership of its own, and the organisation switcher at the top of the sidebar moves you between them. Each company sees only its own work; messages, hours and roles are separate in each. A personal organisation, marked Personal, is the one an independent technician works in alone; a company you join later is listed beside it. The switcher shows the companies of a group together under the group's name.

If no company admits you, the page says You are not a member of any organisation: your account is fine, and a company can invite you or reactivate you. If a company you belonged to has closed, it says so, and your account stays yours.

What a platform admin can and cannot do

The people who run NDT Intact administer accounts from a console of their own. They can suspend an account (reversible: it blocks sign-in everywhere and ends open sessions), reopen an account or a company that was closed, and remove an account as a soft delete that can be restored. Everything they do to an account is written to a log of the platform's own.

They cannot read your company's content: its reports, files, documents, messages or settings. The console works with accounts, organisations' names, plans and usage, system templates, code lists and the glossary, and nothing inside a company's workspace.
