Working offline, and your phone
هذا الموضوع غير متوفر بلغتك بعد؛ والمعروض هو النص الإنجليزي.
Site work loses the connection. NDT Intact keeps the pages you have opened and what you type in a report draft on your device, and sends it when the connection returns, so nothing typed in the field is lost. Your phone does two more things: it shows your day on site, and it takes photos straight into a project. There is no native app yet; everything here runs in the phone's browser or in the web app installed from it.
What works without a connection
- Pages you opened while online open again, as they were.
- A project you made available offline, with its reports, opens and its draft reports can be filled in.
- My day works once opened, and a work item's status you change is kept and sent later.
What needs the server, and waits for the connection: starting a report, signing, sending for review and issuing, because numbering, the checks before issue and signatures are the server's; uploads and downloads, because files go straight to storage; the client portal and the verification pages. A page you never opened is not kept. Signing out empties everything kept on the device.
Make a project available offline
Before you go to site, open the project's Overview tab. Under On this device, choose Make available offline. NDT Intact fetches the project's pages and each of its reports and keeps them on this device; the card then says how many reports are kept and from when. Do it again with Update what is kept whenever the reports have changed, while the connection is good.
If the card says this browser is not keeping pages, open NDT Intact in a current browser and reload the page once; the button then appears.
Filling in a report offline
Open the draft as usual. Fill in the sections; the editor keeps what you type on the device. Where it would normally say the changes are saved, it says instead that the server could not be reached and what you type is kept on this device and sent as soon as the connection is back. Keep working; nothing is lost if the page closes.
Sections and fields behave as they do online. What does not work offline is anything the side panel sends to the server: linking files, a photo from your phone, translations drafted by AI, and signing.
When the connection returns
The kept changes are sent by themselves. The editor says that what you typed on this device while it was offline has been put back and is being saved.
If the same report was saved elsewhere in the meantime, by a colleague or in another browser, the editor stops and asks which version should stay: Keep this device's version or Keep the saved version. Your offline work is never sent over a newer save unasked. Choose, and carry on.
Installing the app on a phone or computer
NDT Intact is an installable web app. On a phone, open it in the browser, sign in, and choose the browser's own install or "add to home screen" item from its menu; on a computer, the browser offers to install it from the address bar or its menu. It then opens from its own icon, full screen, with the same account and data as in the browser. It is the company app only: the client portal is not installed this way.
Once installed, open it while online now and then, so the pages it keeps are fresh.
My day on site
My day lists your jobs for the day: the site, the shift, your role and method, the work items and your supervisor's phone number (see the Operations module). Open it once while online and it works without signal.
Changing a work item's status without signal keeps the change on the device: the item says it is saved on this device and is sent when the connection returns, and the page counts the changes waiting. When the connection is back, they go by themselves; the newest change per item wins.
A photo from your phone
An RT film on the viewer, a defect, a nameplate: take it on your phone and it lands in the project on your computer.
- On the computer, open a project's Files tab or a draft report and choose Photo from your phone. A dialog shows a QR code and waits.
- On your phone, point the camera at the code and open the link; or open NDT Intact on the phone and choose Camera in its menu, where the request is already waiting. The phone must be signed in as you, in the same company: a colleague's phone sees nothing.
- The phone shows what the photo is for: the project's files, a folder, or a report. Tap Take a photo (the camera opens from your tap) or Choose a picture on the phone, then Retake or Send. Take another for the next one; take as many as you need.
- The computer says how many photos have arrived. Choose Done.
Each photo is an ordinary project file, uploaded straight to storage, so you can share it, link it or put it in a handover dossier like any file; see files and sharing. Asked for from a draft report, it is linked to that report as a photo at once.
A request lasts fifteen minutes. After that the dialog says it has run out: close it and ask again. The Camera item shows in the menu on a phone only.
Messages on your phone
Messages work on the phone exactly as on the computer, in the browser or in the installed app: the popup on every page and the Messages page, with pictures and documents. While the live connection is up, messages arrive at once; without it the page checks every few seconds and says so.
The phone does not ring: notifications on phones come with the phone apps. Until then, an email tells you once messages have waited unread for a while, saying who wrote and how many, never what.
Before you go to site: a checklist
- While the connection is good, open the project and choose Make available offline, or Update what is kept if it was done before.
- Open each draft report you will fill in, so the editor and its template are on the device.
- Open My day for the days you will be away, if your company runs the Operations module.
- Install the app from the browser's menu if you have not, and open it once from its icon.
- Do not sign out: that empties what is kept.
No app store yet
There is no native app in any app store, and nothing here needs one. The phone pages are built so that the native apps, when they come, answer the same requests; until then the installed web app is the app.
